Advantages of using the GREEN LIGHTS™ LED Safety Lights – reliable & durable lighting that outperforms lighting previously used on work sites. Reduce downtime and waste, it’s time to upgrade your lighting systems:
OSHA Regulations |
OSHA mandates safety procedures in the work environment to mitigate risk to personnel and facilities.
*Effective Aug. 10, 2016 – 29 CFR 1904, Recording and Reporting Occupational Injuries is required to “better inform workers, employers, the public and OSHA about workplace hazards.” |
OSHA Regulation: [Confined Space]
Classifying the Confined Space
In order to classify the confined space properly, the worker must first determine:
If the answer is Yes to these questions, then the space is a confined space by definition. The next determination is:
Illumination for Work Environments |
OSHA Directed Personal Lighting |
OSHA directs personal lighting requirements under 29 CFR, stating:
Employees are, under 29 CFR 1918.92(e), “…Not permitted to enter dark holds, compartments, decks or other spaces without a flashlight or other portable light.”
Hazardous Materials |
| Classifying whether a light or electrical equipment may be in a Hazardous location is determined by the Hazardous Material in the location. Our GREEN LIGHTS™ LED Safety Lights are certified to work in Class I, Div. 1 & 2, Groups C & D; Class II, Div. 1 & 2, Groups E, F, & G. They have also been certified to Canadian Standards Association: CSA Zones 1 & 2; Zones 201, 21, 22 locations.
Hazardous/Ordinary/Wet Location Portable Lighting |
| Hazardous/Ordinary Portable Lighting must be certified Explosion Proof / Dust Ignition Proof / Intrinsically Safe by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), such as:
* The lights must meet additional certifications as required for the work environment (wet location, submersion, operating temperature, all weather conditions, chemical exposure, etc.).
UL 844 Design/Testing Requirements |
Our GREEN LIGHTS™ LED Safety Lights are tested and conform to: UL 844 – Luminaires for Use in Hazardous (Classified) Location
• The most demanding of construction requirements
* Luminaire Construction Review – material, wall thickness, joint design, supply connections, flame paths, hooks/handles * Luminaire Performance Testing – Temperature tests (see chart), accelerated aging test, thread-wear test, strain-relief test, rough-usage test, drop test, impact test, overturn test, stability test, electrical resistance test, bonding test, explosion test, hydrostatic pressure test, vibration test, dust penetration test, wet location test * Luminaire Marking – To include all certifications, warnings, cautions, and identification of the manufacturer |
UL 8750 Design/Testing Requirements |
Our GREEN LIGHTS™ LED Safety Lights are tested and conform to: UL 8750 – Light Emitting Diode Equipment for Use in Lighting Products
• In conjunction with UL 844 extends to electronic component of the luminaire operation
| * Luminaire Electrical Construction Review – Internal wiring, supply and load connections, circuit separation, insulation, printed boards, drivers, modules
* Luminaire Performance Testing – Input test, temperature test, dielectric voltage withstand test, leakage current test, cord strain relief test, environmental tests, mechanical strength test, thermal aging test * Luminaire Marking – To include all certifications, warnings, cautions, and identification of the manufacturer |
All Weather Lighting Conditions |
Our GREEN LIGHTS™ LED Safety Lights provide dependable and durable lighting in the snow, ice, rain, and heat.
