UVA BODYLight™ is certified to construction requirements under UL 844 for usage in Class I & II, Division 1 & 2 explosion proof environments. Further, the 365nm UV emission from the BODYLight™ is compliant with standards ASTM E3022, ASTM E1444, ISO 3059, and RRES 90061. Great for NDI / NDT Testing, typical in Aeronautical maintenance and manufacturing inspections. Detect cracks, leaks, microscopic holes & defects.
The BODYLight™ with UVA option supports normal full visible light operation as well. Push button activation to UVA mode is simple. Easily switch from the 2500 Lumen normal LED mode to the UVA mode and back again.
Superior reliability and performance in both modes. Owner may order special “code” allowing only trained operator to switch into UVA mode. Code will be available in “Light Emission Report” accompanying sale of every UVA BODYLight™.
Note: UVA option requires operator wear PPE and confirmation required training has been completed.

Non Destructive Testing (also referred to as NDI or NDE)
From a fuel perspective, diesel fuel, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricants, hydraulics, tars, asphalts, etc. contain PAH’s or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These PAH’s have a specific fluorescence signature that is excited by our UVA emission. So, if there is a leak, the UVA will illuminate the primary leakage location.
In some cases, a fluorescent additive is doped into a paint or liquid for use in helping to detect a crack or leak in a tank, as an example. Wherever seepage occurs, the fluorescent illuminance will be detected outside of the tank. Microscopic holes are detected this way. There are many other applications including wire identification and paint holiday detection, etc.
