UVA BODYLight^™

Model 8910UVA | Explosion Proof UVA Inspection Light (Rechargeable & Battery-Powered)

The UVA BODYLight^™ is probably the most durable and portable UVA inspection light in the world today. Built tough for any "heavy-duty" environment. Tested & dropped multiple times from 20ft and it still works! In a tough environment such as non-destructive testing, you want the best NDT equipment possible to avoid disruptions.

Our industrial UVA lighting is certified to construction requirements under UL 844 for usage in Class I & II, Division 1 & 2 explosion proof environments. Further, the 365nm UV emission from this version of the BODYLight™ is compliant with standards ASTM E3022, ASTM E1444, ISO 3059, and Rolls-Royce RRES 90061. Great for NDI / NDT testing & inspections. Common applications include aeronautical, marine, and industrial maintenance and manufacturing inspections. Detect cracks, leaks, FOD, microscopic holes & defects.

This portable UVA inspection light also supports normal visible light operation. With simple push-button activation, you can easily switch from the 2500 Lumen LED mode to the UVA mode and back again. The UVA BODYlight™ delivers superior reliability and performance in both modes. The owner may order a special "code" allowing only a trained operator to switch into UVA mode. Code will be available in the "Light Emission Report" accompanying the sale of every UVA BODYLight^™.

The UVA BODYlight™ has a patented contact mechanism (Patent No.: US-11469546-B2) that connects the lighthead to the 8910 Battery, the Dual Battery Pack (manifold), or the T-BOX™ to deliver astonishing performance.

Note: UVA option requires operator wear PPE and confirmation required training has been completed.
UVA 365nm can be hazardous to human health with extended unprotected exposure.

Non Destructive Testing (NDT, NDI, or NDE)

From a fuel perspective, diesel fuel, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricants, hydraulics, tars, asphalts, etc. contain PAH’s or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These PAH’s have a specific fluorescence signature that is excited by our UVA emission. So, if there is a leak, the UVA will illuminate the primary leakage location.

In some cases, a fluorescent additive is doped into a paint or liquid for use in helping to detect a crack or leak in a tank, as an example. Wherever seepage occurs, the fluorescent illuminance will be detected outside of the tank. Microscopic holes are detected this way. There are many other applications including wire identification and paint holiday detection, etc.
